PATRONA - BAVARIAE, Madonna (with "scary" eyes) and Baby, rays, 1774 with below. Davenport 1954, KM 519.2. This coin is always hard to find in a high grade due to prominent religious design - Madonna with Baby Jesus. Most of the coins were heavily used as a "lucky charm" or piece of jewelry. We are offering one of the rare specimens in a high degree of preservation.

This one has Amberg Mint mark (A). Strike with pretty worn dies which is typical for that series this coin has interesting feature due to mint defect - the Madonna has pretty "scary" look because of the eyes!

Not quite typical for this type of Taler and quite interesting appearance! Touch of smoky toning, more prominent on obverse as well as clear fields would add to the picture.
